NBA Finals Most Fashionable Player

Since 1969, the NBA has awarded a most valuable player award (MVP) to a team member who’s athletic prowess helped his team hoist the O’Brian trophy in joy and triumph (or cuddle it with love and care[insert pic of Bosh]). Today, OnThaBubble would like to start it’s own proud and venerable tradition, we would like to award the Dessources’ Most Fashionable Player award (I can finally have something in common with Bill Russell, yes!).

Unfortunately, the Heat won the title this year so I am not able to award Tim Duncan and his plaid shirts with the MFP, as he was the obvious winner.Now, what goes into selecting the MFP of the year you ask, well I am glad you asked. The criteria is as arbitrary as you might imagine it to be.

1. Fit of attire – 10 points (translation, how well does it cling to your bulging muscles)

2. Color combination – 10 points

3. Accessories – 10 points

4. Personal care – 10 points

5. Hotness of wife/super cool celebrity girlfriend – 10 points (You might already see where this is going)

Now, who are our candidates?

1. LeBron James

2. Chris Bosh

5. Jarvis Varnado (LMAO, just kidding, who is that?) Dwayne Wade

Fit+10 He has an unfair advantage, because his attire are his tattoos and nothing gets closer than that. Color combo+8 His tattoos are prolific, vibrant and beautiful. Accessories+5 His mohawk accessorizes enough. PC+0 I still remember that teen wolf phase Chris . Hotness of his lady+0 (no idea who he dates). Total – 23 points

MarioChalmers

Fit +2 (Couldn’t  really find any clothing references for Mario, but I did find this and it’s poor); Color combo+2; Accessories+2; PC+0 (that creepy mustache must go, please); and Hotness of lady+0.  (smh). Do better Mario. Total – 6 points

Chris Bosh

Fit and flare+10; Color combo+7; Accessories +0 Chris Bosh could have come ahead here, however, his half a million in bling was stealthily removed from his home. PC+7; Hotness of lady+3 You can thank Lil Wayne for this score. Mrs. Bosh was not a lady in streets.Say what you want, the man knows how to dress. Total – 27 points

LeBron James

Fit+10; Color combo+10; Accessories-10 He loses points for that stupid headband; PC+7 and Hotness of lady+7 His fiance is pretty, dresses well and has not posed for any gentlemen magazines so kudos to her. Total – 24 points. That’s right Bosh is better at something than you James.”King” James is always well dressed, but he doesn’t take any risks.

Dwyane – Total – 50points.

Let’s be honest, he is the reason this award was even created, especially dressed in this outfit.

In closing, the obvious finals MFP and league MFP, for that matter, is Dwyane Wade. Learn something Russell Westbrook and Chris Paul. As for Amare Stoudemire, I know your thirsty self would expect acknowledgment in this discussion, but I need to see you for a full season first.

Not done yet….

This man deserves a MFP along with the Most Swagged Out Man (MSOM) in the NBA, and really in sports (MSOMS). I would normally not give any positive recognition to a person with past ties to the Lakers org., but I can’t help it. Pat is smooth, slick, stoic; plain and simple he is sexy. 50 points to Pat.

P.P.S. If I had my way, the award would have gone to Rajon Rondo, but my Celts didn’t quite make it this year. And save your arguments because no one else interned at GQ mag and appeared on the Fashion Police.
